Job Advertisement: Psychologist at SiS Youth Home Johannisberg Kalix

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse throughout the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. Regardless of where you work in our organization or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.

SiS Youth Home Johannisberg operates in Kalix and Boden (Sävastgården unit).

Job Description

SiS Youth Home Johannisberg Kalix is seeking a psychologist who wants to help create the vital difference for vulnerable individuals.

Our target group in Kalix is boys aged 16 - 21 placed under the Law on Closed Youth Care and the Law on the Care of Young People. In Sävast, our target group consists of school-age girls with psychosocial issues, criminal behavior, and substance abuse. Our vision is to be a place for change, which permeates our approach, engagement, and attitude.

Our health and medical care unit consists of psychologists, treatment secretaries, nurses, consulting doctors, and a quality manager. The institution's psychologists are a shared resource for the entire institution, and travel to the Sävast unit may occur. The primary tasks of the psychologists include intake interviews, assessment work, risk and needs assessments of youth, and internal collaboration with other professionals such as unit managers, treatment staff, principals, and teachers. An important part of the psychologist's work is consultation and training for staff in areas such as suicide prevention and trauma-informed care. The work includes cross-professional mapping and treatment planning to reduce the risk of relapse into antisocial behavior, participating in treatment teams, following up and evaluating treatment efforts, and participating in student health work at both individual and general levels. Other psychological work may occur based on the organization's needs.

Within SiS, there are good opportunities for professional development. To prepare you for your future role as a psychologist with us, SiS offers an internal basic training during the first year of employment. All psychologists meet annually for joint professional development, and you have many opportunities for individual initiatives. We at SiS Youth Home Johannisberg have a collaboration with the correctional services where you, as a psychologist, can regularly participate in supervision/exchange of experiences with their psychology team.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed psychologist who is driven by an inner passion and desire to create good care results. Being a colleague who shares knowledge and contributes to a sense of community at SiS are other qualities that make you interesting. The work requires good collaboration skills, initiative, and the ability to work independently. You can express yourself well in speech and writing. You have the ability to create good professional relationships, security, stability, and you have a positive outlook on life.

The authority works with target group assessment, MBB, which is used in our LSU departments and in one of our LVU departments. These are based on risk and needs assessments and can lead to deeper investigations of certain youth. As our investigative questions often concern personality assessments and neuropsychological disabilities, we prefer that you have knowledge and experience in these areas. Experience and good knowledge in test methodology, risk and needs assessments, and experience of independent work with youth are also meritorious. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

A valid driver's license (B) is required.

Please attach your degree certificate and license in your application. Degree certificates issued in another country must be translated and validated in Sweden through the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR).

Employment:

As an employee of the state, you have certain benefits according to the agreement, such as 28 - 35 vacation days depending on your age, salary supplements during parental leave, and an annual wellness allowance. Read more about our benefits here.

The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probationary period. The place of employment is Kalix, but travel to our unit in Sävast may occur. Start date by agreement.
